A Strong

Bite

Specialised lower jaws allow Saki Monkeys to eat hard shelled and unripe fruit that most other monkeys ignore.

Hunted

Like the Red Uakari, Saki’s are inedible because they feed on toxic seeds which gives their meat a bad flavor.

Hunters kill them only for their long bushy tails, which people buy to use as cleaning dusters.

The faces of some species are naked, but their head is always hooded with fur.

Strong hind legs allow Saki’s to make huge jumps from tree to tree.
